Alison Crowe is a native Californian, UC Davis enology graduate, professional winemaker, published author and calls the Napa Valley home. She is the Winemaker for Plata Wine Partners, LLC, and provides custom winemaking services and consulting to nationally distributed as well as small start-up brands. Her wines, crafted entirely from her company's own appellation-driven vineyards, can be found all over the United States, from family-owned boutique wine shops to internationally-acclaimed restaurants. Above all, she believes in letting the grapes speak their own particular truths through the medium of the winemaker.

The Winemaker's Answer Book, published by Storey Publishing, will answer the questions about wine you always wanted to know but didn't know who to ask. Accesible to the professional winemaker, the hobbyist "micro vintner" and even the curious connoisseur, this comprehensive and well-organized collection of questions and answers explains the mysteries of turning grape juice into wine. Now available at Amazon.com, the Culinary Institute of America, Copia: The American Center for Wine, Food and the Arts, the UC Davis Bookstore, Rubicon Estate Winery, Tolosa Winery, and bookstores nationwide.

Alison has made wine at Chalone Vineyard, Curtis Winery, Byington Vineyards & Winery, Bonny Doon Vineyards and Bodegas Salentein in Mendoza, Argentina. She currently makes award-winning coastal California wines from the Russian River in the north to Santa Barbara County in the south as Winemaker for Plata Wine Partners based in Napa, CA. In addition, Alison sits on the Steering Committee for the Wine Industry Financial Sympsium, Wine Industry Technology Symposium and Central Coast Insights conferences. She is a frequent contributor to Wine Business Monthly, writes the popular "Wine Wizard" column for Winemaker Magazine and is currently an MBA student at UC Davis.
